Traditions- how are traditions are made? Like they aren’t always a thought out action you pick they usually to grow organically. It’s like an inside joke that only your family or friends know about. Some traditions grow old and out dated and thet’s ok.

It gives space to evolve into something new and create new memories. Epsecially with the current events there are some traditions that we havent been able to fulfill weather its due to distance, sickness or the lockdown. One of the many traditions that ive missed out on this year was my family BBQ. We usually all get together in the summer at my Grandmothers house and cook and have a good time together. But the world had other plans for 2020. Even my usual chrismas traditions have altered this year being that i was not able to physically spend time with my family. Recently I’ve had an experience where I found that I have forgotten some traditions that I haven’t done in a long time, because of the lost relationship with people I used to have in my life. However, I’ve had a chance to be reminded of those good memories. It seems that pain has a way of being sure that you only focus on the dark times and making it hard to see the light in things. 2020 has been a hell of a year and has changed a lot of people lives in a multitude of ways. Let’s collectively do the hard work and heal and not just cling on to the pain because it seems easier in the moment. Pain is hard but so is healing choose your hard. It’s always more rewarding to do the hard work. Forgive those who have done wrong by you. Make the active choice to choose the path with better outcomes for yourself. Enjoy life and whatever you choose to do just make sure its #MerakiMade. Drop some of your favorite traditions you share with your family and friends and we can all trade up for some new ones to use through out the year.
