Pssst ...the answer is yes!

Have you ever been scrolling through your favorite social media and you spot someone with a beautiful tattoo and its got you thinking of getting one yourself ? So you go on a quest through the internet to find some inspiration and just like that you’ve got the itch for ink. Don’t feel bad I've been there too, but for some reason I couldn’t work up the courage to actually walk into the tattoo shop. I procrastinated and made excuses to hold off on it and literal years went by. Until my birthday came up and I finally decided what better way to celebrate then to treat myself to something I have always wanted. Something that I've been afraid yet itching to check off my bucket list. When the day finally came I was a ball of mixed emotions, both afraid yet excited. After about 3 hours with a needle in my back I can honestly say at the end of it all I loved it, wish I had done it sooner. Here’s a couple things that helped me talk myself into it.
First thing you need to do is really ask yourself “What are you waiting for?” Let’s be honest I know you’ve already spent hours on Pinterest looking up ideas and on Google researching harder than you ever have on any paper you’ve been forced to write. After you've chosen the concept of the tattoo and know where you want to put it, go sit and have that consultation with the artist you've been stalking on instagram. What better time than now? Stop thinking of what other people will think of you. Just take that next step and do the damn thing. It’s not that deep.

Everyone always worries that they might regret getting their tattoo in a few years. To combat this my advice is to make sure you go to a good artist. Look at the artist work and see if they have done any work similar to what you want done. I believe that placement also plays a key role in a good tattoo. Also give it some good thought. Although spontaneous tattoos can be beautiful too, its the ones that you get on that one drunk night that you are most likely to have second thoughts about. Whatever it is you decide to get whether spontaneous or well planned it will be like telling a visual story of what you were going through at that time in your life. There’s nothing regretful in remembering your growth and your path through life. whats wrong with wearing your memories on your sleeve as beautiful art?
At the very least it’s a way of self-expression. Don’t be afraid to let the world know who you are. Being your unique self is your best quality, be proud of that. Once you finally work up the courage to go do it you’ll feel liberated to finally scratch off that one thing on your bucket list. Trust me it'll be worth it. Now let me ask you this…When’s your appointment?
